  • Finding True and Lasting Happiness

Many times we believe that when we work very hard and we spend our lives building, doing, and getting, at the end of the road we will find happiness. We will finally feel content. Unfortunately, what happens many times is that we never get to the end of the road, and the lasting fulfillment eludes us.

  • New Moon of Taurus : Transforming Stubbornness

Today, we enter into the lunar month of Taurus (the bull): the sign of strength, loyalty, beauty, and persistence. Over the next four weeks, we will all be able to have the fortitude to stay on top of the things that we believe in and to overcome those things that stop us from achieving our goals, which are what give us life, strength, and of course, the ability to grow.

  • Reincarnation: Who cares?

Recently, I have travelled to different Kabbalah Centres around the world and spoken on the topic of Reincarnation.

And the question I asked of those who attended was…Who cares?  What difference does it make if I know about, or even believe in, reincarnation, for that matter.

I’ll tell you what difference it makes.  The difference is that if I can understand what I came back for, I can fix it.  And by fixing it, I can heal the chaos in my life and eventually do my part in healing the chaos in the world.

  • A Meditation to Defy Gravity Today

Today is a holiday known as “Tu B’Shvat”, which some people refer to as “The New Year of The Trees”. On this day we have a special opportunity, or cosmic opening to connect to that energy of trees and nature that enable them to grow against gravity, or the physical laws of the Universe.  Ultimately today we can connect to and receive these gifts of nature.

In order to get the most out of this day I suggest we all do a visualization that can create the opening we need to transform any negativity we hold and carry deep inside of us.

  • A Meditation to Welcome the Sabbath

While I was in Israel last week I was interviewed on a radio show and was asked about what one should meditate on while lighting the Sabbath Candles.

This past Saturday evening I travelled with our teachers and staff to Hebron in the West Bank to the Cave of Macpelah just after we finished learning about Abraham's purchase of this cave for Sarah's resting place.

Join me for a few words of consciousness recorded there.

  • Reincarnation: Wheels of a Soul followed by Connection to Rachel the Matriarch

You are missing some Flash content that should appear here! Perhaps your browser cannot display it, or maybe it did not initialize correctly.

Since time immemorial, kabbalists have recognized, explored, and
celebrated the notion that life does not simply come to a halt when the heart stops beating.
In this lecture,  Kabbalah’s teachings on the everturning wheels of the soul are revealed, followed by Q & A and connection to Rachel the Matriarch.

  • The "Right" Way to Pray

I know some of us may be looking back now, wondering if we prayed the “right” way, and had the “best” consciousness during the year-defining days of Libra.

Even I turned to my son Michael at one point during the intense Yom Kippur prayers in Los Angeles, and said, “I’m an American, half the time when I say the prayers in Hebrew or Aramaic, I’m not sure I’m getting them right. Sometimes I wonder if I should just not say them at all, and speak my own words, and try to connect to my Creator in my way?

If I’m praying, but not saying the words right, am I really connecting?”

  • The Month of Mar Cheshvan (Scorpio)- Bitter Made Sweet

Welcome to the bittersweet month of Scorpio, called Mar Cheshvan in Hebrew. Bitter made sweet. For those of you have lived with Scorpions, you know exactly why it got its name!

Scorpio is ruled by the planet Mars, planet of war. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re arguing all the time, but there is an ongoing tug of war within themselves, a battle between revealing their sweet side and unleashing their sting.

  • Are We There Yet:The Path to Reaching Our Full Potential

We have all experienced moments when the road our life is on feels monotonous and it seems we aren’t doing anything significant or that the work we are doing isn’t fulfilling.  When this is the case, it’s possible we are meant to be traveling down a different road.

I think these days many people are familiar with this stuck feeling.  I think that’s why I am so often asked, “How do I know what my potential is and, what does the Light want for me?”

  • Joy and Abundance

The holiday of Sukkot happens in the month of Libra, following Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. But if you know a bit about history, then you know that the actual event of Sukkot happened when the Israelites left Egypt in the month of Aries.

So the question is, why do we connect to the energy of Sukkot in Libra, and not in Aries?

  • Yom Kippur: As Angels

Tonight and tomorrow is the time when we are supposed to immerse ourselves in the energy of Binah consciousness.  We have earned that right through these ten days of looking inside, of being more aware of our negativity and how it conceals our Light and how it hurts others.

Because of that, we have developed an energy that enables us to reach the level of Binah, in which there are no such things as mistakes – only consciousness.

  • Tears in Heaven

In this time before Yom Kippur, we are to look at ourselves in a different light, to look for that flaw we have in ourselves.  It is a time to reflect on where we are compared to last year.

  • Bless the Land

The portion of the Bible that corresponds to this week says, “remember the rules and judgments of G-d,” and, “don’t think it is because of your righteousness…”
It is teaching that you can do nothing without the help of the Light. Don’t ever think that when you achieve something, or reach a successful place, that it was your power alone that got you there. Yes, you tried, yes you struggled, yes you had pain, but do you think you got there on your own?

A student in Miami asked me about a time that I said sometimes people's prayers go unanswered, and wanted me to explain what I meant. Watch here for my answer.
