The month of Cancer is known as one of the 3 "negative" months. Kabbalistically, we know that "negative" simply means the existence of a tremendous amount of Light. Join me as I discuss what we can do to use this energy to create balance and blessings in our lives, and do a meditation to make it happen.

The End of the Road
Sometimes we believe when we work very hard and we spend most of our time building, creating, doing, that the end of the road will be fruitful, that we will have something, that we will be able to feel fulfilled.
But oftentimes what happens is we never see the end of the road, we never get to that place.
Having Everything
There is a story where a poor man comes to a rich man and asks for help. The rich man says, “Not only will I not lend you the money, but who are you to ask me?”
And then God says, “Who are you to decide? What are riches but that which I have given to you?!”
How many times do we see affluent families in which the parents think about nothing but themselves? Quite often, you will find that the children in these families are disconnected from their parents.
Being A Child of God
The Zohar reveals many beautiful things in this week’s portion. One idea is the difference between a servant of God and a child of God. In one place the Zohar states that the Creator says, “The people of Israel are my servants.” Yet, in another place, it says, “These are my children.”
A Lesson in Tolerance and Unity from Rav Shimon Bar Yochai
I want to share one more important lesson we can learn from Rav Shimon bar Yochai, who was responsible for the revelation of the Zohar, about the importance of tolerance and unity.
A question we must ask ourselves is, “Who is closer to the Creator?” A man who prays three times a day and does everything according to the rules all the time? Or somebody who slipped so far away, he didn’t think he had a place to which to return? Somebody who might have done some of the worst things in the world, and one day turns around and says, “I’ve had enough, I want to go back.”?
Light in the Darkness
Tonight and tomorrow we have an opportunity to connect to the energy of the great sage and author of the Zohar, Rav Shimon bar Yochai on the anniversary of his passing.
It is said that after living in hiding from the Romans for thirteen years, Rav Shimon bar Yochai came out of the cave his body was covered with sores. He could hardly move.
His father-in-law, Rav Pinchas ben Yair turned to Rav Shimon and said, “Oh that I see you thus!”
Rav Shimon answered him, “If I wasn’t as I am, I would not be who I am.”
Reveal Your Ultimate Potential
There is a story about a great sage, the Netziv (Rav Naphtali Tzvi Judah Berlin), who lived about 150 years ago. He was a financial genius, very active in all types of pursuits, and made lots of money. He spent most of his time devising systems that could make money.

Busy Being Busy
There is a special parable that teaches us a lesson on how to understand the true nature of our work in this world.
There once lived a great and wise scholar. He studied all day long, and people revered him as a great and righteous human being.
On one occasion, this scholar spent the night in his friend’s home. There was a little baby in the house. In the middle of the night, the baby cried, but the scholar didn’t notice.
